Art support

Being an avid supporter of eminent classical musicians, Foundation A has granted sponsorship for the release of a number of records by celebrated Russian pianist and Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Peter Dmitriev, including Tchaikovsky's "The Seasons", and works of Mussorgsky and Rachmaninoff. In 2010 Dmitriev has established "Classics and Jazz", the only Russian crossover festival gathering acclaimed jazz and classical performers on the same stage. As a member of the festival’s board of trustees, Anton Abugov has provided invaluable help to the project at the early stage of its establishment. Headed by Peter Dmitriev in the capacity of artistic director, the festival has set its sights on reviving the accessibility and popular appeal of jazz and classics.

Peter Dmitriev was born in Moscow in 1974 into a family of professional musicians. At the age of seven, he was admitted to the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory Central School (A. Bakulov’s class) after studying for more than two years with A. Artobolevskaya and A. Sumbatyan. Within a year, the young prodigy had appeared before a large audience. In 1998, he graduated from the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory (L. Naumov’s class). In 1995, Dmitriev won the First Prize at the Sixth International Music Competition in Tokyo. Since then his performances have been attracting considerable attention from both media and general public. Such a level of popular appeal granted him numerous collaborations with famous conductors, such as V. Feoseyev, K. Akiyama, M. Eichenholz and many others. Dmitriev has thus far made records for such labels as Boheme Music (BMR), Fontec, SONY/BMG, Musikleben and Misteria Records.
