Cosmoscow International Contemporary Art Fair
9-11 September, 2016
Moscow

In 2016 Foundation A and Anton Abugov supported the initiative of Cosmoscow art fair to celebrate its finissage with a concert of the famous Russian cellist Boris Andrianov, winner of numerous international festivals, permanent participant of the Homecoming winter festival, founder of the VIVACELLO cello music festival and VIVARTE chamber music festival.

Boris Andrianov teamed up with high-class musicians, personally invited by him to this concert for the performance of two pieces — Arnold Schoenberg’s "Transfigured Night" sextet (1899) and Giovanni Sollima’s "Spasimo" fantasia (1995).

Supported by Foundation A, contemporary Russian artist and independent film director Evgeny Granilshchikov was intrusted to make a video that served as a visual background for the performance of "Spasimo".

Under the personal patronage of Anton Abugov, during 2016 Cosmoscow Russian artist Evgeny Antufiev presented the results of his six-month project on a specially designated art fair booth.

I wanted to say thank you to Anton!

These six months were incredibly productive, and I haven’t felt so free for a long time: renting stoves for ceramics, bronze casting, carving studio and tutoring sessions.

For participation in Cosmoscow I worked with wood, bronze and ceramics. I tried to work with the "Russian North" style and the remains of Soviet visual culture, all these decals, giant vases similar to the ones in theatres and VDNKh (Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy).

The feeling of freedom, when you don't have to think about the financial side of the creative process, is very helpful.
