Viktor Tsoy

(1962-1990) was a poet, musician, singer-songwriter and leader of the "Kino" Soviet post-punk band. From 1974 to 1977 he attended an art school. From 1977 to 1978 he also attended the V.A. Serov Leningrad Art School specializing in wood carving. He briefly worked in the restoration workshops of the Catherine Palace in Pushkin, St. Petersburg. Starting from 1985 he was a frequent member of the New Artists group’s exhibitions. In 1987, along with other members of the group, he took part in production of the famous film "Assa" directed by Sergei Solovyov.
